I believe that a (if not "the") major purpose of our lives is to learn to overcome by faith. I see that invitation constantly presented to us over and over in varying circumstances. Each day is a new set of challenges that gives us the choice to use our faith. We work hard and contribute our best efforts to the situation but then there's always that point where our limits are reached and the desired result has not materialized and we need to use our faith. It takes spiritual effort. It takes patience. It usually takes time. It sometimes requires tabling our own ideas or desires and opening ourselves up to another course of action. We must trust that Heavenly Father's perspective is greater than our own and that He in his perfect love for us is invested in our complete happiness. Sometimes we are required to suffer for a time in order to achieve a greater happiness down the road. When we succeed on occasion to overcome by faith we burst upon the scene of Heavenly Father's love for us and we see for a brief moment our potential and what he is trying to teach us. The challenge is to remember that for the next go around.
